Job Or Ministry? (What's the difference?)

Some people have a JOB in the church; others involve themselves in a MINISTRY

If you are doing it just because no one else will, it's a JOB.
If you are doing it to serve the Lord, it's a MINISTRY.

If you quit because somebody criticised you, it was a JOB.
If you keep on serving, it's a MINISTRY.

If you do it only as long as it does not interfere with your other activities, it's a JOB.
If you are committed to staying with it even when it means letting go of other things, it's a MINISTRY.

If you quit because no one praised you or thanked you, it was a JOB.
If you stay with it even though nobody recognises your efforts, it is a MINISTRY.

It's hard to get excited about a JOB.
It's almost impossible not to be excited about a MINISTRY.

If our concern is success, it's a JOB.
If our concern is faithfulness, it's a MINISTRY.

An average church is filled with people doing JOBs.
A great and growing church is filled with people involved in MINISTRY.

Where do we fit in? What about us?

If God calls you to a MINISTRY, don't treat it like a JOB.
If you have a JOB, give it up and find a MINISTRY.

God does not want us feeling stuck with a JOB, but excited and faithful to Him in a MINISTRY.

theme for today is "I wish to go back to the past..."

I've been scanning through friendster, looking thru friend's pic and memories i had with them. Good memories came back, bad memories kinda seem to fade away. A sad but sweet feeling swell inside me. Sad b'coz things were in the past and some things will never be the same again. Sweet, as i'm glad tt u're actually in a part of life before and i treasure the time i had with u, no matter how long, how short, whether in words or actions or silently in my heart.

In life, the only thing tt counts is faith expressing itself through love, so spend time loving ppl around u. When u give someone your time, u are giving them a part of your life tt you'll never get back, hence it's the most precious gift. The best expression of love = time.

hi. it's been some time.. 1stly, thank God for my job-i've been working for ard 2 mths le. it's the longest LT job i've got so far. my colleagues are all pretty good to me and i heard tt i'm gonna be confirmed soon( i think..i hope..) so do pray tt i'll get confirmed soon. it's sad tt i can't go church camp in dec anymore coz dec period v busy then leave will most unlikely be approved... do pray fro health too..having dry throat recently.. yup gtg. bye~
